Almara Inn

Google reviews are a 4.5 star rating. This is simply impossible. Yes it’s old, yes the staff was nice, but the room was horrid! Filthy is an understatement. I don’t think the room was even cleaned. Maybe they changed the sheets, even that’s questionable. Looked at the mattress, big mistake! Bathroom was disgusting, shower, disgusting, floors disgusting. We turned around and left, didn’t even ask for our money back. Upon further information this “Motel” is actual low income housing with a few motel rooms. Hard NO! Update, based on owner reply: You are correct in saying towels and sheets were clean. Nothing else was. Floors had not been cleaned in weeks, shower was full of soap residue and human hair. Bathroom floor covered in a clear, sticky substance with dead bugs and hair stuck in it. T

I had such a great stay here in October 2025! The place was super clean and well taken care of. My room was cozy, and the coffee was honestly amazing — way better than I expected from a hotel. The best part was the service. Crystal at the front desk was so kind and welcoming when I checked in at night. She really made me feel comfortable after a long day. I totally recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again next time!

Just stayed here overnight after two very long days of driving from the west coast and it was the best sleep I got in a long time. The bed was so comfortable and the place was so welcoming! Our room had a small table for two and a cute armchair. I especially love the holiday touches outside along with the outdoor furniture; I can see these being enjoyed when the weather is mild. While I communicated with Jody, everyone I met was so friendly and accommodating. I'll have to come back here next time I stop by Tucumcari..

The people who run this place are so kind and welcoming. I asked Steve for a little advice on my car before leaving in the morning and he was so helpful! Rooms are quiet. Apparently they did extra insulation when finishing up the rooms. Cute place. Great location. Would stay here every time I'm passing through!

LOVED this place. Car broke down and I got stranded in Tucumcari. The tow truck driver said I had to stay at Almara Inn and it didn't disappoint. The owners and management are professional and understanding. The cleaning staff is excellent and polite. Steve, the front desk guy that greeted me is one of my most wonderful souls I've ever met it my life. I regret that I wasn't there while the drink shop was open, but I hear they have wonderful fresh juices. If you're traveling down 66 and you're looking for a relaxing vibe to rest, Almara Inn is, and will continue to be, the best spot in Tecumcari.
