Motel 6 San Antonio, TX - Fiesta Trails

I wouldn't stay here based on the service. I came to San Antonio around 4am and was up all night/morning before checking-in from being at the nearby hospital where grandma was transported to last night. I had nothing but the clothes I was wearing and my laptop. I checked-in at 2:40pm, rested until 6pm, went back to the hospital but on the way was told my grandma was being air-lifted to Houston. I rushed back within 30mins to see if I could cancel the reservation and the front desk lady said she couldn't do anything but refund the deposit. I explained the situation but there was no consideration. Her response was, "This is a business. No hotel would refund you." Cant really say it safe i had someone trying to open the door twice one during the night and one during early morning couldnt risk checking with my family still asleep though did use a custom load lock as a stopper mostly use it for my hitch basket, other issue I had is there bathrooms couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower head after messing with it turn out the faucet has this ring that you pull down would be great if some sign said something about it but would explain why the shower wall is damage, same goes for the tub drain couldn't fill it seem rust and abuse is missing the stopper to fill it and would be great if there was a working extractor fan not working seem it hasn't been fix for awhile. Booked this motel because we got such a good price through Expedia, but would not elect to stay here again. Our first clue that it may not be the best location was the police car outside of reception when we first arrived! The room itself was relatively spacious and clean and the bed was not the worst I've slept on, but it was definitely a bare bones experience. The room was equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator, but no coffeemaker. They provide soap and thin towels, but you must bring your own hair dryer. Check in was awkward...they tried to charge us twice. Also tried to give us a smoking room when we specifically asked for non smoking. We stayed two nights and it was very noisy outside both nights. Would give ZERO stars if I could. We checked in the night of 10/25, got charged a $40 deposit that was supposed to be refunded at checkout. We go up to our room and low and behold, NONE OF THE LIGHTS TURN ON and it was SO HOT in there. We call front desk and someone comes up after 20+ mins of waiting standing in the dark. She comes in and flips all the switches as if she didn't believe us. She still wanted us to wait for maintenance, IN THE DARK but we insisted on a different room. We were tired and just wanted to sleep. She did a sweep through of the room to make sure "we didn't use it." What was there to use in the dark when we were standing outside waiting for her?! Fine, we get another room, sleep, checkout early and go on our merry way to hit the road. Tell me WHY they charged me TWO
