Motel 6 Memphis, TN - East

If I could give this place a zero I would!! The man that worked last night seemed to be nice, but man was I fooled! The first room he gave us - the heat didn’t work, no biggie. Went down stairs to the front desk, informed him of the situation and he came and checked it out himself and decided to put us into another room - okay cool. Got into the other room… wires out on the wall and the bathroom had roaches crawling around in the tub and on the toilet … went back down stairs and told him about the situation. Again, he came to the room as well and checked it for himself - then he realized that he had put us in a room that was not ready to be booked. Still no biggie. The last room he put us in - the ceiling looked like it was fixing to fall in - still no big deal. The tub wasn’t the cleanest

Decided on this place in advance because I was trying to get past Memphis headed east. Bad idea. Didn’t feel safe. Thankfully my pup didn’t need to go out after 7pm. The room itself was so so, the floor was dirty and I had to thoroughly wash my feet in the tub before putting on socks the next morning. The bed was comfy but I had to guess how to cool the room, the settings were long rubbed away. The staff were friendly though.

I stay at Motel 6 because they are pet-friendly. I don't expect anything fancy, and I expect some dings and scuffs. That was the case here, but give it a good rating because of the courtesy of the staff, cleanliness, and functionality in the room. |The TV was a little wonky, but watchable. Bed was comfortable. Fridge was cold. Door locked. Key worked. And it was quiet.

Hotel is not worth the price, everything was dirty and property had garbage in and around the property. Bath tub had burn marks in it, the fan was very dirty and the ceiling had what looked like something that had exploded on it. The staff was unhelpful and her main concern was that we had not used the room while asking for a refund. She said she had to go and check the room before she agreed to a refund. Once she came back from checking she failed to advise us that we could have the refund and ignored us and began serving the next person. I asked her if she was going to finish with us and confirm our cancellation before we walked out. Don't waste your money on this hotel when you can pay a bit more and go somewhere else.
