Motel 6 Lufkin, TX

​I am writing this to warn others about the billing practices at this location. I stayed for one night and vacated the room on time, leaving no belongings behind. Despite the room being empty and available for cleaning/re-sale, management charged my card for an entire second night that I did not stay or authorize. ​When I reached out to resolve this, the manager was unwilling to refund the charge for the night I did not occupy the room. This is essentially charging for services not rendered. I have a timestamped record of my departure and will be escalating this to Motel 6 Guest Relations and filing a formal dispute for an unauthorized transaction. ​To the Management: I am happy to update or remove this review once this "phantom charge" is corrected. Positive: Right near a lot of dining Negative: The room did not latch at all so i relief on deadbolt to keep door and anyone from just walking in… thats assuming the deadbolt would even move.. 1 of 3 nights i wasnt able to deadlock door so i put chair in front of it… i explained this all to staff.

It took three trips to the front desk to get the room key to work, because the lock's battery had died. The room appeared clean and orderly. The bed and pillows were more or less acceptable. |The big disappointment came when I tried to take a shower: NO HOT WATER.

The rooms & grounds were really clean. We stay at Motel 6 b/c we have a dog. The courtyard is all grass w/ a trash can & pet bags. Great for dogs. My only complaint is I recently had my ankle fused. I don’t need a handicap room, but I do need a downstairs room, b/c I have great difficulty climbing the stairs. My husband called when he made the reservation explaining why we needed a downstairs room. The guy said he couldn’t reserve a downstairs room. We got there & my husband requested a downstairs room again. The desk clerk had to call the owner to see if we could have a downstairs room. It is clear that I have trouble walking, plus you can see the handicap plates on my car. It seems that they could have given us a downstairs room a week earlier when we called, otherwise I will start getti

We listened to a couple fightingina nearby room much of the night. About 6 a.m. a man in the motel let out a long, loud scream. There was vulgar profanity written on the mirrors in permanent marker. We had planned to stay 2 nights, but left after just 1. Would not recommend.
