Hampton Inn & Suites Lufkin

Staff was great (Alicia) upon check in. Room was great and clean. Except the gripper for the shower which looked like it had quite a bit of build up. The breakfast was moderate. It had a good selection of foods overall but the hot food selection was limited. Egg frittata, sausages and potatoes. Sausages were ok. But potatoes were moderate and egg frittata was a poor option. Good juice selection. Has coffee and tea all day. Room had microwave, mini fridge, tv, and one of those single cup coffee maker things. The tv on board program lagged greatly. If it had worked properly it had options to sign into your streaming apps.

We have been Diamond members for many years. We have used this hotel several times and checked in early and never had an issue. In fact, we mostly stay at Hilton properties and have never been told about an early check- in fee. The hotel employee, Kayla, said we can check in early but had to pay 50.00 extra. We said we need to cancel and she said it was too late. We received a text from Chloe, the manager, and told them what had happened and she said the fee has been around for a while and because we agreed to pay we would not be refunded. We had been on the road for over 4 hours and this is how the Hampton Inn in Lufkin, TX treats you as a Diamond member. We will never use this hotel again and will start using Marriotts due to poor customer service at Hilton.

Wife and I stayed 11-13-25 on our trip south while moving from NW Arkansas to the Rio Grande Valley. She made the reservation while we were eating dinner 8 miles up the road at Moe's Southwest Grill. I have to say the King Studio we had was the nicest motel room we have ever had. The bed was comfortable, the couch was firm, the bathroom was spacious. If we had to spend much time in a hotel room, this is what I would want. The only two negatives I saw was the shower door wouldnt stay closed, so water ended up on the floor, and the chair at the desk was hard to roll. The back could have been higher as well, but that is a personal preference. My mother and I travel a lot and this is by far the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in in this price range! All the little extra touches (like full size complimentary shampoo and conditioner bottles) mean a lot when you're tired from a long day of traveling 💖

Location was not too far from the highway which was great. The room and bathroom was clean and the bed super comfy. The only thing was the housekeeping knocking on the door at 9:00a in the morning, not even close to check out, and before I could respond as I was in the shower she was opening the door coming into the room. That was not okay at all and way too early to check rooms even without a sign. Waiting until after 10a or 11a would be more acceptable or check the computer for checkouts instead of having the privacy of guests.
