Motel 6 Kingsport, TN

Did not end up staying at this location and wouldn't recommend this place. Arrived at night and the front desk person had a young child but was still sort of attentive when checking us in for our reservation. Reservation was for a non-smoking 2 bed and once we opened the door, there was a draft of cigarette smell. Even outside on the 2nd floor and a few rooms down, people were smoking and some with the door open. There were also 2 dudes on the 1st floor who seemed sketch. Overall didn't seem like a safe area and the room was not what we asked for. We proceeded to give the key back and looked for another motel an hour north. In and out under 15mins. We asked if we should expect a refund and the receptionist said they'd tell the manager and would be taken care of. It's been almost a month an

Motel 6 was surprisingly pleasant. I checked in at 2am, got a room fast and it was clean. It actually had a retro feel to like being in the 90's and I loved it. The price was great and staff was friendly! This was better than the 2 other expensive hotels I stayed at during my 2 week trip.

Positive: location to mom's house Negative: dirtiness of parking lot, lack of spaces in parking lot, no iron in room, not enough wash cloths, towels too small, coke machine didn't work, no comfortable chair in room

Receptionist was incredibly welcoming and helpful, much better than our experience with the one in the Red Roof across town.||There were some patrons smoking outside their rooms—which bothered me a bit due to being sensitive to cigarette smoke—but it wasn't too unbearable since the corridors were on the outside of the motel.||Room was on the smaller, more simplistic side, but exactly what we needed for the time being.||$50 deposit for locals, not bad at all however. Other hotels wouldn't accommodate visitors within a ~60 mile radius, despite us needing some place to stay when our house a few miles away wasn't an option.||Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone coming through Kingsport on a budget, or for emergency housing. Imma give them a 5 star! I was actually pretty impressed with how updated the rooms were! People were nice, quiet. Stayed here for a long weekend doing out of town work. My absolute only complaint was the pillows! We got 4 half sized half idk what pillows, they absolutely sucked.. Bed was harder then most other places. But I feel like If I had better pillows the bed wouldn't of seemed so hard?. Lol So bring your own pillows is my only recommendation..
