Motel 6 Hattiesburg, MS

Hotel isn't the best but also not the worst. Rooms are decent size and has HBO and Cinamax stations. They could use some new towels for guests. Been staying here awhile and never had an issue with feeling unsafe and there isn't any bad elements roaming the halls or outside parking lot.

The room issue we encountered (a smoke alarm beeping elsewhere) was handled correctly by staff. However, the overall environment outside the room felt unsafe.||There was significant loitering, visible prostitution, and unwanted solicitation from individuals on the property. I was traveling with my brother, who has cognitive disabilities and diabetes, which heightened our concern.||Due to fear for our safety, we left very early (around 4:30/5 a.m.) once activity outside seemed to end. This was not planned and disrupted our trip.||Safety should be consistent across locations. This stay did not meet that expectation.

Front desk staff were professional and responsive (they addressed a smoke alarm issue promptly). However, the exterior environment felt unsafe. There was visible prostitution, extensive loitering, and I was approached and solicited for unwanted advances by individuals on the property. I was traveling with my brother, who has cognitive disabilities and diabetes, which made the situation especially concerning. Out of fear for our safety, we left between 4:30 - 5 a.m., once exterior activity subsided, to avoid further interaction. Leaving at that hour was not planned but felt necessary. Regardless of price point, guests should feel safe outside their rooms. This location needs better exterior monitoring and enforcement.

The people were friendly for the most part. Lot of section 8 live ins. A couple of them were sketch. No water pressure in the upstairs room I was in. Had to take a washcloth and wipe myself down for a shower. Waffle House next door and gas station within walking distance. They allow dogs.

Positive: Location Negative: Did not have the king size bed I booked. Dirty, tub very slick with soap. Water leak. Constant fighting in parking lot and running up and down stairs all night.
