I had exemplary customer service from The front desk agent Faqir. He was incredibly pleasant, even though my situation was not typical with a broken air condition in my apartment and less than five hours before a 12 hour shift. Avoid this property--it has money-hungry owners who care nothing about pets and care only about ripping off guests who they attempt to nickel-and-dime! There are other Motel 6's in the Baton Rouge area, and I left this property without spending the one night I had booked to stay. Instead, I went to the Motel 6 on Reiger Rd. which I reviewed with 5 stars. I use Motel 6 properties frequently because I travel often with a pet, so I am typically happy with the accommodations for the price I want to pay. This property at the I-12 location has the most terrible policies I have ever encountered!! If there was a zero stars option that would still be a generous review. The sketchy people out front should have been a warning sign but I was so tired that I didn’t care. That is, until I opened the room door, at which point we immediately walked right back out and I went to the front desk to ask for my money back. The guy asked me if I opened the room, and I was thinking “Yeah, that’s why I want my money back.” Much to my dismay, he told me I couldn’t get a refund, but for $10 more I could get an upgrade. Apparently the “upgrade” doesn’t include a fire alarm, a toilet that doesn’t clog, or a working shower. Seriously, the toilet clogged just flushing down pee. Nothing else, just pee. Absolutely HORRIBLE! I pull in park under the canopy to go and check in and the door into the lobby is locked. It had a sign posted with the times that it would be locked and that is totally understandable (when you realize the kind of place you're in). Wouldn't have been an issue AT ALL, IF it was between those hours but it was not. They have a bell to press to notify that you are there but I really don't understand why put in that much effort for a buzzer you just aren't going to answer. Front desk was rude from the jump. Lady in the front had an attitude my entire stay here. For starters, she told me I couldn’t have any visitors for the 4 nights I was there. Which was weird. She told me if I don’t like it then I can leave. Extremely disrespectful and unwelcoming. Then the next day she came to my room and said it was checkout time. When I had the room for 2 more days. The day before I left, she went inside my room and changed the sheets. However, this was before checkout time! You should not be trying to kick me out before checkout! Especially when I’m not there, trying to be nosy! The room was not all of that and a bag of chips!
