Motel 6 Astoria, OR

Pretty much what I expected BUT!!! The room was clean, the bed firm but comfortable, Glad the hotel chain has finally got rid of the stinky carpeting. Nice to have a microwave and fridge in the room. Here is the BUT There was a light right outside my room so my room never got dark enough to sleep. The family above me sounded like they were moving furniture around till about midnight, and some guys with motorcycles next to me decided I guess to tune their engines after dark. No one to call...the office closes after 9pm except for "emergencies"

The service was fine. The facility was run down. The mattress felt like the springs poked almost through the fabric. The toilet leaks and the walls need painting. The A/C unit is very loud. The room was soaked in Febreeze and we had to open the door to get rid of the smell. The "coffee" that was in the lobby was lukewarm water and really quite horrid. Pick a better place.

Stayed here a couple days ago and was not completely impressed. We did check in after normal business hours so I can understand the lobby being locked. The night front desk was less than cordial when checking me in. She wasn't rude by no means but very sterile. The room was COLD coming in. Large room by a hotel standard and sparsely furnished. Bare floors probably didn't help the warmth factor. The heater only went up to 78° and the filters were filthy. Had that burnt dirt smell when starting up. The bed wasn't a pillow-top soft but wasn't floor hard. So that was good. A few stray hairs in the bed but that's normal. The clerk at the counter when I check in was very nice and helpful. He was nice and polite, especially after an awful day at work. That's where it stopped, the room smelled bad there was holes in the bathroom door the ceiling was questionable. But I was just there to sleep. The following morning I pulled up to the main office in my work van simply because I was in town for work. When I stepped out of the van the morning person that was working came out the main door yelling at me for parking there and told me her parking spots are for paying customers not a place to park for construction vehicles. I told her I was a customer and I was staying there and she still had an awful attitude. Never will I ever stay there again. I'll sleep in my work van before that. She needs to change her attitu

It was relatively clean, the AC did well, but the curtains do not block out any light. There was a lot of noise which is ironic since they told us to be quiet with suitcases at check in. Woke up many times. The two critical points: no coffee, and NO SHAMPOO!! How does a hotel/motel not do shampoo? Do I scrub my head with a bar of soap, like what the heck? Even Airbnb is better in that regard, holy cow. It is a motel 6, I wasn’t expecting much, but the basics are mandatory. Dark room, soaps, towels, bedding. 2 of those things didn’t happen. For the price, I’m shocked. If it was $80/night, this review wouldn’t exist.
