Morro Bay Sandpiper Inn

This is my favourite little place in Morro Bay. I have stayed here multiple times and keep coming back. It's two stars so don't expect luxury. But the sweet couple who own it obviously treat it as a labour of love. From the friendly large succulents that greet you like bursts of green sunshine everywhere, to the friendly waves, hellos, and offers of service from the proprietors whenever they see you as they go about maintaining and cleaning. The decor is dated, showers on the small side, but the rooms are comfortable and the location can't be beat. Sandpiper Inn is exactly what those of us who have been coming to the central coastline for decades want. No chain, no impersonal generic hotel. This is the type of place that keeps Morro Bay so endearing to regulars like myself.

Without air-cooling (AC) it would have been uncomfortable. Opening a window is a security risk, but we had one window that opened over the side of the building so we were able to stay comfortable. Otherwise, a very nice room.

A very clean no frills inn that is comfortable, convenient to main strip, and reasonable prices. I loved the heat lamp in the shower. I will definitely make this my # 1 motel when visiting Morro Bay! Lol, and you do not need an engineering degree to work the shower.

Positive: Love the quiet location at the end of Main street. The most comfortable bed and pillows ever. Cute funky decor. Negative: Water pressure in shower was not great.

After reading the poor reviews I decided to post this. I gave it 3 stars, because it isn't a 4 star hotel, it's a nice family owned motel , that is clean. The obviously do the maintenance themselves, but it's a nice place. If you're going to whine about, air-conditioning, decore, and location. Then go stay at The Inn. If you want an inexpensive place in downtown Morro Bay, you found it. Who uses air-conditioning in Morro Bay anyway? Kooks from the city. Stay home!
