Morrison-Clark Historic Inn & Restaurant

Having travelled to more than eighty countries I’ve come across some great hotels and some awful ones too so I always check out reviews before we book. This hotel looked ok on trip advisor so we booked it but like anything you don’t know what you’re getting until you get there. We appreciate things don’t always go to plan and sometimes you get issues but I’m a firm believer in giving the hotel the chance to put things right, unfortunately this didn’t happen here !!||I was travelling with my wife and two children and we had some noises in the room but at 6am the following morning we were woken by these horrible noises which were ongoing intermittently for the next couple of hours. We went to reception and was told the noise was the electric door to the garage below which we weren’t told abo

5-Stars all around! We were in DC for a concert and at the last minute decided to stay the night and not drive home. We booked on Hotels.com, for a complete steal of $150 +$42 Valet Parking. Was well worth it, only a 10min walk to Capital One Arena. Staff super nice and polite. Room was much bigger than expected. Even got little chocolate mints. Very clean. Mix of a updated hotel, based in the 50's. They have a little bar in the lobby. Only issue was when we were walking to our room, one of the hallways both Snoop Dogg and Willy Nelson must have been staying, my eyes were bloodshot by the time we got through. Our room was fine. Great overnight, would definitely book here again.

Even though this is a historic hotel, everything was well maintained and had an avant garde design. I loved the spacious shower, although it would take 10-15 minutes for the water to get warm. I would recommend getting the breakfast. The eggs were always perfectly cooked, and the potatoes were nicely seasoned. The hotel staff are friendly and polite. I do walk quite a bit, so National Mall and a number of nice restaurants were of walking distance for me. But it is also easy to get an Uber if you’d prefer.

Great experience with this hotel. It’s clean and staff are very friendly. It operates like a large 4-star hotel but is much more modest in size. The bar is located in the main lobby. It’s small but comfortable. They have a beautiful gathering room for relaxation or just to sit for a chat. My room was clean and bathroom was quite modern. The only draw back is the room was surprisingly tiny. If you were to be staying multiple nights, that can become some what of an inconvenience. I stood one night alone so it wasn’t that much of an issue. It is located in a prime location. Easy access to everything DC has to offer. I will utilize this hotel again next time I am in the are.
