Moose Creek Campground

Beautiful campground alongside the creek. Each site has privacy due to the tall grass and trees. Vault toilets, hand pump water, fire rings, and picnic tables. Self-pay.

Very clean and quite. Beautiful scenery. The pool area is very clean. Tons of fun.

This is a great campground. Easy to get in and out. It is very close to Helena so there seems to be folks that might live in the campground; with tents and household garbage. We didn't catch any fish but did enjoy the creek.

Was going to go camping the weekend before Independence Day at Vigilante campground, but it was full. I did a search for other campgrounds within a reasonable distance and found Moose Creek. It was very nice. Pit toilets and hand pumped water is available in camp and the cost is $15/night ($7.50 of you have an accepted pass) Camp was quiet and clean. I can't say if there were any trails or other recreational activities nearby as we just stayed in camp and relaxed. It was a nice weekend at a hidden gem campground.

**update** construction is over and the campground is back to normal and you can actually find a spot to camp. It's pretty open since the beetle kill was removed, so not much privacy, and I was highly disappointed to see people cutting Christmas trees on this site last December (no signs saying not to, gate wide open) so future trees will be limited. Still a nice little place, close to town with a creek flowing by.
