Moonshine Creek Campground

Beautiful, natural, well-maintained, super clean showers and restrooms, inviting, considerate, and helpful management and staff. Adequate camp store and laundry facility. Loved the extra outdoor usage spaces/trails through the campground and along the creek like the "prayer porches," benches on the creek, the "Shed." tenters sinks made clean up so much simpler, and tent sites with shelters over them. Stayed in a cabin with a half bath. Comfortable but also felt like traditional camping. Also had heat if needed. The "RV" sites were varying in size, and some may consider them close together compared to most state parks; however, with the natural setting, fire rings, and picnic tables they looked private enough. This is a great campsite for families to come, relax, and enjoy nature. We have used the tent sites twice now, and we definitely plan to use the small cabins in the future. They have made a lot of little upgrades since last time we came. There are some nice walking areas, a dog field for dogs to run around, and several quaint, quiet spots to sit and enjoy the creek or their small ponds. The staff have always been friendly, and the facilities are always very clean compared to other camp locations.

So this campground is in a beautiful setting and is very peaceful |.. usually. However the managers Misty and Tom do not offer the polite customer service that was here before. Tom was using the lead blower which I understand things need to be maintained but blowing by my campsite for over 30 minutes when trying to eat outside and enjoy the creek seems a little overboard to clean a site for a camper coming in. Misty telling me to not come in the fall is very rude and uncalled-for. So sad.... too bad for this lovely campground to be managed with a "if you don't like it sorry" mentality.

We first went here 30 yrs ago. And liked it. Came back in 2024 different owners and a completely beautiful and different place. Jim and Dana have done a fabulous job. |Very clean and maintained buildings. They were very thoughtful of the different types of campsites they created for both tenters and rv-ers. ||They are very helpful and courteous and the don’t allow any riff-raff.|We have told many of our friends to visit and when they do, they love it and have to come back. It’s an incredible place. We are going back (3rd) trip with family and friends ❤️
