Economy Inn

Service and location were great. Although the room was clean , I think the place could really use a face lift. There wasn't a mirror in the bathroom, so if you needed to shave or put makeup on you had to do it in the main room. I also thought the bed was a queen but it was a double. Not much room for both of us and the dog (they are pet friendly for a small fee) but it was 2 double beds so we slept in different beds just so we could be comfortable.

Positive: It was located close to Western Carolina University. The room was not bad bad but I think they could do some improvements. Negative: The bed sheets and spread were soiled but they had been washed.

First, if you must have all those extra amenities and fancy décor that you find at chain hotels, this is not the place for you. But if you want a good clean room with everything you really need at a good price and that is close to downtown Sylva, then this is a great place. This is a basic old roadside motel that shows its age from the outside. But the rooms have been renovated over the years and everything was very clean. The floors are tile even in the bedroom area, which means you know its clean, unlike the carpets in some of those fancy hotels. The bed was very comfortable with good quality sheets that were again, clean! Everything in the room worked and the bathroom, while a bit snug, was very functional and clean. The rooms is a comfortable place to rest. No coffee available in the morning. No ice machine. The bed sounded like the springs were broken. The sink is separate from the toilet and shower. No vanity at all. Used the mirror in the bed area to get ready. Worst thing, the room reeked of cigarettes. Almost couldn't stay with allergies and health problems. You can rest, but its not a convenient room. The shower is dark.

Nic was amazing, he made sure all our needs were met to accommodate my husband who is handicapped. We would definitely stay at this Inn again.
