Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Fond Du Lac

The room was nice and suited our needs. We had a lightbulb out but the manager was quick in replacing it. I had to request extra pillows. There is only enough towels for one person. You need to ask for extras. The soap was very nice. We had a good stay. Comfortable beds.

I was traveling with a couple small dogs and had been on the road for 10 hrs. I was very pleased to be able to locate the hotel easily, with fast check in and while we had a pet room, the room was clean and fresh - and the bed and bedding was very comfortable. Breakfast and coffee in the morning had some fresh items and lots of options. There were several grassy areas to walk my dogs and was able to get gas right around the corner before heading back out easily. It was a relaxing stay.

I’ve stayed at multiple hotels in the Fond du Lac area and this was easily the worst experience. Issues during my stays included: a moldy/dirty mini fridge, missing or unavailable amenities I paid for, strong odors, and overall poor cleanliness. I also found an unknown white powder-like residue and other concerning debris in the room (see photos). That’s not something guests should ever encounter. The property is also actively renovating, but renovations won’t fix the bigger problem: hospitality and accountability are seriously lacking. When I raised concerns, I was pushed to move rooms after already settling in instead of being offered a fair, immediate resolution. Due to the strong older of flooring compound or something of that nature my stay in my room caused me to become physically ill. I asked to be put into another room immediately upon entering the room and was told they were booked so the room was sprayed with another chemical which didn't help. I was at a funeral three miles from the hotels location so I was very specific in my plans. I arrived later in the evening and left very early in the morning so I did not get full use of my room or breakfast or anything that the hotel has to offer. What I did get when I spoke with the manager was a firm stance of not being willing to help rectify the situation. He offered a 10% credit. He did also offer a discount on a future room instead of the credit . If I could have left before I did I would have

Positive: "" Negative: The hotel is not clean. The room we got gross and the mattress was completely stained and dirty. Staff was not great in attempting to resplve the issue. Was given a different room in the exact same comdition as the initial one.
