Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Elkhart

Rooms are very well kept. Housekeeping does an amazing job with keeping the rooms clean. Front desk clerk Sue was extremely helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be returning. This particular hotel is safe however lots of sketchy hotels nearby.

Positive: Staff. Very kind, courteous and helpful. Negative: Cleanliness. Floors and surfaces were gross. We cleaned up water on the bathroom floor that made the towel black... cleaned off desk and tables with same results. Beds advertised as Queen size... definitely Full size beds and not Queens.

The staff were friendly and helpful. It was when I went to my room that the wheels fell off the bus. Our door was propped open. Thankfully there was no one in the room. However, upon entering, I immediately was inundated by a musty smell. The carpet upon entering was stained and gross looking. The sheets were extremely wrinkled. There was a mirror along the entire length of the wall behind the beds, which gave me the feel of a porn movie gone wrong. The lighting was a series or strip lights above the mirrors. There were no lights on the end tables. The phone that was in the room looked like it was from the late 2000s. The room was not updated to accommodate multiple people with cell phones. This hotel is beyond disgusting. My room was not clean. The AC did not work properly. The only outlet in the bathroom did not work so the hairdryer attached the wall couldn't used so I had to do my hair in the room, luckily there was wall to wall mirrors above the beds so I could see. The motion sensor light switches are not convenient for anyone but the hotel trying to save money on their electric bill. Had to keep waving my arms to turn the lights back while reading. The carpet had not been vacuumed and there was trash on the floor. Walked on the floor with my socks on and they were black afterwards. The towels were so old there were holes in them. Our door lock wouldn't work from day one. Instead of fixing it, we had to get the desk clerk to come up to 2nd floor and hard key open it EVERY time we wanted in. TV wouldn't work, so they taped cord with scotch tape. Hair dryer caught fire when I tried to use it. Shower head was dirty. Bed was clean. Location worked for us because we were having our truck worked on at Dan's.
