Positive: "" Negative: My room had a door to an adjoining room. The door was not equipped with a secure lock. A man entered my room through that door during the night. A security/maintenance person was sent to handle the situation however; I was never contacted by management.

Starting off with my experience with the valet company, Leilah was very sweet and careful when it came to handling my vehicle. She explained the process wonderfully and really eased my mind when it came to this experience especially since it was my first time using this service. Kudos to Kendra as well, such a kind hard worker. Now for the hotel, nothing really stuck out to me. It was good, waiting for it to be great. Very outdated in different areas in terms of technology and quality. Hope modern renovation is near in the future of the hotel. If I could rate both experiences differently, I would rate the hotel 6/10 and the valet service 9.2/10. Location was really convenient in proximity to places like the Alamo and Rivercenter Mall. There was a very nice restaurant near by called the Cro

I tried. I really tried. I’ve stayed here 3 times in the last 8 weeks. 2 different suites and then a petite room. The hotel is gorgeous. It’s historic. It’s beautiful. The food is mediocre. The Sunday buffet - so disappointing compared to what it used to be years ago. The staff? Dispassionate. Apathetic. From check-in to check out, I believed they wished they were someplace else. When we brought a problem to the attention of the manager, she promised to call us back and she never did. When our toilet was plugged, it took 2 hours and multiple calls to get maintenance to fix it. The suites were beautiful. The petite? Here’s is a video of the leaky shower that left a solid rust ring in the tub with bubbles in the paint or porcelain. I know it is an old hotel, but one can keep up with repa

We decided, at the last moment, to run up to San Antonio for a couple of days. We took advantage of the Menger's "Spontaneity package" and got a nice suite for the night & it included a bottle of champagne, valet parking for the night & a $25 food credit. Our room was a lovely 2 room suite with a patio view. We enjoyed the champagne & valet parking, but due to lack of staffing, we assumed after we waited at the door of the Colonial Room for quite awhile, a waitress told us they would be with us in 10-20 more minutes. We decided it was not worth using our $25 food credit for our breakfast. Bummer since it was part of our package! The hotel itself is like a museum, with all the pictures and artifacts in the lobbies & hallways and the location next to the Alamo cannot be beat!

For the age and historic stature of the hotel, staff should be nicer and more inviting. This is a beautiful property. Effort would and could elevate it to close to a 4 star experience. Sadly, We experienced bad food and became ill after the meal, spoke to a manager, and never got a call back to resolve the issue. Extremely disappointing. Used to come here as a child it was an adventure. Wish that was more common now. Prior to that experience, I would have given the hotel, a three star, despite the dismal service and the requirement that you book your room online through another company. The decor is amazing. Some of the staff are fun to talk with because they know the history. But overall, I have received better service at Motel 6. You can’t beat the location. It is fantastic. But given
