My partner and I stayed here for two nights and had an absolutely lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, room very clean & tastefully decorated. Our room also had a dream sized soaking tub which was one of the highlights for me. We loved drinking coffee and reading books outside on the patio overlooking the water. The hotel is perfectly located minutes from town, perched up on a hill overlooking the ocean. The grounds are peaceful and surrounded by lush trees. Our interactions with the front desk lady and cleaning staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

This seems to be a recently remodeled hotel. The area around the different cabins is well manicured and kept. The rooms are recently remodeled and clean. The hotel is close to town (2 min away) making it a good stop to enjoy the town but away from the crowds in town. The check-in and checkout was super easy. They had everything ready for us. The obstructed view from the property is nice, but it is not a waterfront, taking a bit of the magic away. Not a big deal if you set expectations properly. The one issue we had is that the new bathroom design was not super good. In the cold night when one wants a hot shower, the bathroom became super humid and there was water all over the floor. We had to leave the lights on so the fan could take care of the humidity. Not a big deal, just a minor incon

We stay in Mendocino often at different inns, and this is one of my favorites. The room was cute and stylish, the bed VERY comfortable with lots of pillows. It was hard to get up. Our room had a soaking tub with a view of the ocean and a huge rain shower head. We used a lot of water 😬😬. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, and while I know we’re supposed to have the dogs on leashes (shhh don’t tell anyone), we played Chuck-it ball all afternoon on their huge, beautiful grassy knoll. The dogs had so much fun…that was the best part. Close to town but far enough away, amazing ocean view, sunset and super nice staff. We’ll definitely be back.

Lovely setting, mediocre execution. Rooms are large but run-down and need a refresh from the by-gone and overdone farmhouse look that falls apart after a year. Masking tape on the shower to keep water in is just weird - fix it. Cleanliness could be improved - everything is a bit grungy. That said, the setting is lovely - in the hills just above Mendocino (albeit not within walking distance to town) with views of the ocean. And the Adirondack chairs are really as picturesque as in the pics. Very quiet and peaceful. We didn’t interact with staff because we got in late and left fairly early so can’t speak to how they are. Bottom line: Update the rooms, repaint, fix stuff, deep-clean and you have something worth coming back to.
