Big River Beach at Mendocino Headlands State Park

It was a beautiful beach. Only had Porter Potties for restrooms. Parking is ready to find. The family had a great time but there were a bunch of jelly fish to watch out for.

I love this beach. It's pretty easy to get to and provides both an ocean beach and surfing area, as well as a river swimming and kayaking area, plus tons of sandy areas to spread out.

The Big River beach is another tranquil and scenic spot in Mendocino. It is an estuarine area stretching from the Mendocino and a sprawling white sand beach. It can be accessed from various places, and has lots of parking. Take a stroll, walk your dog, sport water activities, enjoy a picnic or simply relax on a beach chair, this beach is good for everything.

A very cool estuary you can visit. Usually there aren't too many people here and the views are very scenic. It's always a pleasant walk up and down the beach, and you might spot some wildlife. The highway passes right over you which is pretty unique.

Great beach to explore caves at low tide. Dogs can run free while the kids play. Beach was clean and we found a good bit of sea glass.
