MacCallum House Inn

This review is for the restaurant. We got lamb chops, filet mignon, chive gnocchi for a starter and the dessert - you need to order it at the same time as your dinner order due to it needing lots of time to prepare (I forget what it was called) & we got red wine which was VERY GOOD. But it was a limited supply so it’s not something they would carry all the time. The food was OUTSTANDING!!!!! The steak was cooked to perfection, I asked for medium, and so was the lamb chops. Their service was perfect - very friendly and knowledgeable. The ambience of the house was awesome. We sat by the fireplace & it was lovely to hear the crackles of the burning wood and to smell it. We will definitely return!!!

We have stayed at MacCallum House since 2004 when we stayed for our honeymoon. We have come back with our kids multiple times since then. We stayed in the Jedediah Smith House this time and we stayed there several times in the past. We love being there in the winter. We have no issues with rain. However, this time, the main bedroom flooded when there was a lot of rain. We called the front desk multiple times and nothing was done. There was also a horrendous fly problem. We were constantly swatting and killing flies. When we complained when we left, we were told the manager would contact us. I have sent 3 follow up emails and never heard back. I just filed a complaint with the BBB. The quality of this business has declined dramatically in the past few years and I don’t recommend

Excellent food and customer service. The cornmeal pancakes were fantastic, the view was gorgeous, and the room was so comfortable! We were very impressed with our stay there, and would happily go back any time. The beach was close, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff were very knowledgeable and kind, and made the stay exceptional.

We had the best stay at ocean song #20. The house was better than imagined, big 2 bed room, lots of room for us to be together or spread out, plenty of kitchen pots pans etc for cooking, so many keurig pods (yay!), comfy sofa for lots of people, smart TVs in every bedroom and living rooms, hot showers, hot tub, laundry, great wifi, cozy and warm, views from everywhere, a block from trails. Beds sooooooo soft and comfy and warm. Provided everything we needed for a getaway 2 parents and 3 big kids. One of our favorite places so far.

I stayed here (a week night) on a solo trip through the area. They were nice enough to accommodate my need for a single night stay (usually it's a two night minimum during the busy season) at a good price for what the location is. Specially considering they seemed busy enough with a wedding happening on the weekend. The room (7) was cozy with a detached bath facility. It was just as described when booking. No surprises there. The Wi-Fi was temperamental, but I wasn't there for the Wi-Fi. I was pretty much there for the location and the ability to explore the town on foot. Fantastic location obviously and the staff were polite, courteous, and very accommodating. I didn't get to experience the restaurant because I needed to leave early (breakfast was otherwise included).
