Memorial Campground

Jason M rated this 1 star due to no services. Campground is great, If you want services maybe a hotel is better suited. This is great to still be able to camp on your own merits without movie night or ice cream socials.

Free! Camped here twice, one night each time. We were able to get down a very rutted dirt driveway to the campground and turn around with 35 feet worth of truck and camper. I wouldn't recommend anything larger then that. It's quiet, secluded, picturesque, and FREE! There's another much larger looking campground across from this one, directly across the river. I don't know anything about that one, except that it was partially visible from this one. The narrow river was very cold, but had good clean water with quick rapids. We didn't do any fishing. There was a short one minute trail you could walk to access a sandy beach, and water deep enough to swim. I'm going on memory here but I think the drive from Winthrop was approx 30 minutes max.
