Masterpiece Hotel

Stayed here for one night on our way down the coast. Rooms were big, bed was ok. Staff was friendly. One big thing to note is that I did not see AC in our room. Thankfully, since we went during the winter, we opened our sliding door until we went to bed and made it comfortable enough to sleep. The "free" breakfast was ok. We got a couple different kinds of croissants, oatmeal and some cereal for our options.

From the moment we arrived at the Masterpiece Hotel, we knew we were in for a treat. Our room boasted a stunning view, and it was the perfect backdrop for relaxing after a day of exploring Morro Bay. The customer support was top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff always willing to go the extra mile.Speaking of treats, the breakfast was a delightful surprise. Fresh pastries, yogurt, fruit, and the amazing make-your-own waffle station had us fueled up and ready to take on the day. The waffles were truly a highlight - fluffy, crispy, and customizable with an array of toppings. It was a fun and delicious way to start the morning.Beyond the view, breakfast, and customer service, the overall experience at the Masterpiece Hotel was awesome. I’m pretty annoyed with myself for never having been here before despite many Morro Bay trips. Great guest services rep (very educated and helpful), doable pricing, courtesy drinks, breakfast, clean room, etc. This is such a classic and cool hotel with great art on the walls. It is also a prime location for walking to the grocery and also the shops. They even provide Dove brand soap/shampoo’s which is really nice! Highly recommend.

This used to be the go-to place for us in Morro Bay. But things are not like they used to be. Front desk folks aren't particularly friendly or approachable. I had a problem with the water in my room. There was no cold water. All cold water spigots had hot hot hot water. All hot water spigots had hot hot hot water. No way to cool it down. I told the front desk and without making eye contact, she said she would notify maintenance. Never saw or heard from anyone after that. It was impossible to shower because there was only scalding hot water. We won't be booking here again.

Was a nice Jacuzzi room for the wife and I. My only complaint is the we arrived 40 minutes past check in and the room wasn't ready. We had to wait 20 more minutes. The location is great. We will definitely be back.
