Marco Beach Ocean Resort

This review is for the benefit of former guests who might be expecting something resembling the resort hotel of four and more years ago.  Before this year we were guests here four times, most recently in 2022. First, the positives: the few staff that we ran across were friendly and helpful, especially the valets.  The hotel and room were clean, and the exercise facility is excellent.  You are literally steps from the beautiful beach, and it's a short walk to many excellent restaurants.  But, apparently due to changes behind the scenes the following is different: Formerly you were greeted by staff at the hotel counter; now, the counter is vacant and instead you deal with earbuds-guy (see other reviews) at a desk on the other side of the lobby. Formerly there was an on-site spa and resort cl

Excellent location. Great staff. Since the split with the property on the beach side the restaurant and the bar are separate businesses BUT they still serve you just can not room charge. Also beach chairs and umbrellas are provided in the room but you need to bring it to the beach and set up yourself. Essentially no service on the beach from the hotel but can be availed through other service providers. We have always enjoyed this property for its location, spaciousness and good people.

This is a beautiful property (even with the renovation of the pool that many reviewers have mentioned), but it seems not be a hotel. Rather, it seems owners of units have hired a management company to admit guests who have rented units, kind of like a time share. That's why there is but one concierge and several parking valets. There is no restaurant/room service and no staff, but our unit had everything we needed for its kitchen. (Pro tip: the last grocery store is a Wynn Dixie near the bridge as you come into the island. The good news is that we had a wonderful view and our room was especially comfortable. It was however showing the beginning signs of wear and tear - small stains on a chair, some darkening grout in the bathroom, stain around drain in the sink, etc. The TV's software did

I found this place online because I wanted a suite that had a separate bedroom from the livingroom area. It did not disappoint and the unit was clean and well appointed. Just be aware it is wonderful but it in not a full service hotel. These are owner condos that the management company rents out. That's not a bad thing but just know there is no resturant or room service to call on. It is a great building and a direct walk to the enormous silk sand beach with great shelling. On the path to it there is a beach bar that is part of another facility and can serve meals and drinks. Less than a 5 minute walk is some great resturants like Marco Steak & Seafood which we loved and several popular resturants as well. This place was awesome! The rooms were super clean and comfy. The location is amazing, and they even give you beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, and all that good stuff. They've got a gym too, which is pretty sweet with some nice equipment. You really can't beat the price – it's about half what other resorts charge. That's probably because the pool's being renovated, and they might bump up the price once it's done. But I still love the room size because you get your own little kitchen, stove, and everything, plus a fridge. And like I said, being right on the beach is perfect, with restaurants just across the street.
