MainStay Suites Raleigh North

Hotel was clean and staff were quite polite. However, some items were missing from rooms, like conditioner and body wash for shower. Was told if needed pots and pans would need to borrow these from the front desk. No ice machine - was told there was an ice tray in fridge freezer in room but there wasn't. Not very secure around entry doors, didnt need a room card to swipe in.

The room smelled so bad. There was hair in the shower; I asked multiple times and no one showed up to clean. The coffee was cold in the pot and the front desk person said, there's a microwave. Everything was dingy/ broken/ smelly. We were with a group, so didn't select this hotel. There was no couch in our room, as in the picture and we paid twice the price I see on the website today.

We stayed at the MainStay Suites in North Carolina for the NCFC College Soccer Showcase weekend, and this hotel was grossly overpriced for what we received. Upon arrival, our room door would not properly shut, which immediately raised safety concerns. The toilet seat had visible urine stains, indicating the room had not been properly cleaned. The bathroom was poorly designed, with no shelf or space in the shower to place shampoo, conditioner, or soap. Throughout the weekend, there was concerning and unusual activity in and around the hotel. At one point, a fire truck and police responded to the property, and the police presence remained for approximately six hours. Just keep scrolling. This is not the hotel you want. We booked 2 nights but left after one night. It wasn't good. But the lobby is nice, they remodeled at some point.. The hallways stink. Literally. The rooms are cold and uncomfortable. They look NOTHING like the pictures. The vibe you get from the rooms is grim. If "drug rehab halfway house" is what you're looking for, then you found it. We had a suite with a full kitchen. There wasn't a single utensil, plate or cup. Not even a plastic disposable cup to drink out of. The TV worked...so that was good? There was a coffee maker in the room, but no coffee to make in it and no cup to drink out of. I checked in and was assigned three different rooms, all of which were unsanitary. Towels were visibly dirty and brown, bedding had hair on it, surfaces had dried residue, and the toilet was unclean. The conditions were not safe or fit for occupancy. I left within minutes and did not stay. A manager verbally confirmed I would receive a full refund, but the hotel later refused to honor it and contradicted themselves when speaking to Expedia. The hotel and Expedia then passed responsibility back and forth. This property does not reflect its online ratings at all. The cleanliness issues alone are alarming, and the lack of accountability afterward made the situation worse. I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.
