MainStay Suites Carlsbad South

My coworkers and I have been here for 1.5 weeks on rotational shifts and booking several rooms. Finally after several requests to get the rooms cleaned it was finally done. Cleaning services are not consistent and don't try and work with your schedule when it does happen. The alternative was for us to get the linens and towels to change ourselves. This place looks nice and has a ton of potential to be a nice place but the lack of cleaning service and willingness to work with customers made our stay terrible. Sometimes lessons are learned the hard way.

We had a horrible stay here. We checked in and started loading our heavy suitcases onto the carts when we learned that the elevator wasn't working, and we were on the third floor. We had to just grab our essentials from our suitcases and go. The breakfast was also extremely disappointing. The only options were bread and jam, cereal, waffles, and yogurt. None of them were great or filling. We will not come again.

The room was unsatisfactory. It was evident that the bathroom was not properly cleaned. Upon entering the bathroom, the bars of soap and a towel was inside the toilet. The walls of the shower were not clean. You could see grime on the walls and even toothpaste from previous guest. The bathroom floor boards we're coming up. There was mold by the shower. The kitchen area was also dirty.

The hotel was disgusting. There was food, crumbs and trash everywhere. There was no shampoo either. The dispenser was empty as if someone hadn’t gone into that room for an extended period of time. The bathroom was the worst. The couch and the ottoman/table had stains all over it. It appears no one cleaned the room before we checked in. The WiFi also wasn’t working and front desk said all they could do was call in and report to IT. I don’t recommend this place at all and will never stay here again. So gross.

All good, except cleaning the rooms...it takes a while. Also they don't have hot food, only boiled eggs( previosly frozen) a toaster for bred and a waffle machine. Would be nice to serve hot food ( scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, totes, hash browns) like any other hotel. I think they always have enough working clients to do that.
