Magnolia Hotel Houston, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I stayed at The Magnolia Houston for four nights (January 19–23, 2026) and had a good overall experience. The room was clean and comfortable, though I did find a discarded press-on nail on the floor one evening, which was a bit surprising. Aside from that, housekeeping was solid. WiFi was reliable, and the bathroom and shower were very good — great water pressure and well maintained. The on-site gym is about average. It’s fine for a basic workout, but the treadmills aren’t great quality. The rooftop pool is nice but fairly small, so don’t expect a resort-style setup. I stayed at the Magnolia Hotel Houston back in November and honestly had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Everything about the stay was smooth, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable.||What really stood out was the service at check-in. Dewan, the young gentleman who helped me, was absolutely wonderful — professional, attentive, and incredibly welcoming. He took the time to offer great recommendations for nearby places to eat and things to do, which made exploring the area so easy. Positive: I loved the location and the free water & coffee in the lobby. Negative: The rooms are very old and the hotel is poorly made. It made me feel like I was in an old dated hotel with new appliances and furnishings. It?s was poorly kept and not up to the 4star standard it has on here.

This hotel has great potential. Visited on business and stayed in a corner suite. Windows and city views throughout, spacious, with nice decor and comfortable bedding. Service was very friendly and attentive from arrival. The room is described as “newly renovated” however it is in great need of repair, paint, and cleaning. Lighting and amenities in the bathroom and kitchen were also lacking. Edited: Oddly none of the photos of ceiling mold, bubbling paint, stains, separating seams, and dirty walls were posted. Makes me question how many other reviews are missing information.

This hotel is magical, we even got married here. We decided to stay for a few nights to beat the Valentine rush and enjoy one another. Everything was great except the TV didn't work, AT ALL. We tried binge watching Netflix and it just spun and spun. When my wife reported it to the front desk just said the manager wasn't in. They didn't even ask what was wrong. The girls who checked us in WERE AMAZING, the check out staff, not so much. Location is amazing, views were superb, the restaurant was fantastic, and all that was diminished by poor reception, one being the TV and the other the check out clerks. Those two things almost ruined the experience.
