Amazing mansion in the heart of it all. Excellent communication with host, clean, spacious, well stocked. Very comfortable, excellent spot.

I recommend finding somewhere else to stay while visiting New Orleans. Magazine Mansion has some of the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. I had booked this house, initially, for a festival but I realized it would be extremely unsafe to visit alone (especially since I am a young woman). I canceled on January 8th or 15th. I knew it may take 15 days to get my refund because I booked with my credit card. I waited 15 days and received nothing so I went and messaged the host. The host stated it wasn’t their job to get me my refund, but I had been sent their by the airbnb support so I explained that. We reserved this place through VRBO for the first weekend of Jazz Fest 2020. Due to COVID-19, Jazz Fest was cancelled and New Orleans was put on lockdown. VRBO recommended that owners give at least a 50% refund for all reservations cancelled due to COVID, but due to their policies, VRBO could not force owners to do so. The guy who booked the reservation for our group messaged the owner through the app, and the owner said he would refund 50% of our deposit. Despite that, he refunded a very small amount and then completely stopped responding to messages. It’s been about 1.5 months since our trip was supposed to happen, and after lots of time spent communicating with VRBO it appears we are going to get stiffed. Regardless of VRBO policy, the right thing to do would have been to provide

The unit was as expected. It was spacious, clean, and in a fabulous location. Jim was a fabulous host, and responded to a dryer issue in a timely manner. We LOVED our stay and look forward to booking w/them in the future!!

I cannot rate the actual house because we never stayed there however, I will gladly review the owner keeping our $2,500 deposit after jazz fest was cancelled due to covid this year. Granted VRBOs policies are to blame as well but imagine keeping $2,500 of someone else’s money and not rendering any services in the midst of a pandemic. Nice job you douche. Also, he specifically told us he would refund the deposit due to the circumstances (it’s not like we cancelled) and then went back on his word when he found he could make a quick buck based on VRBOs policy. Never using VRBO again and watch out for this guy. Real class act stand up guy!
