Lighthouse Lodge

This is an amazing place to stay, It is beautiful and very comfortable the owners are the most amazing people you'll ever meet, We stayed in 2 different places here. My favorite being the waterfront chalet it's upstairs 2 bedroom and 2 bedrooms with a big kitchen and living room with a fireplace ( a entertainment one). Best part is the patio/balcony right of the back sliding doors it's breathtaking the view of Lake Shaffer . My husband and I love fishing we have a fire going while we fished. Great spot to catch some blue gill and catfish. The best place to go to getaway or stay for awhile like we have. The price isn't bad either. I highly recommend that everyone stay here just once and you'll be impressed and it will be one you'll go back to every time. Thank you so much to the owner

Our extended family of 37 just enjoyed a really great Labor Day weekend in the Lighthouse Lodge B&B on Lake Shafer. Mike and Bonnie were very accommodating, especially considering the health challenges they’ve been dealing with. The grounds were well kept, and it was a great place for young families with small children. The sandy beach area with toys was well used! They also had a supply of children’s toys for the littles to use in the Rec Room, where we spent a fair amount of time before and after our meals. Her substitute cook did a great job feeding us breakfast, and they gave us free rein in the kitchen for us to cook our own evening meals. We held our annual cousins reunion here. Lighthouse Lodge was perfect! We loved the spacious rooms, the lake views, Mike’s boat ride and the pedal boats. Best of all were the evening fires lakeside. The delicious breakfasts were just gravy on top of everything else. Mike and Bonnie really make you feel at home. ❤️

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. My husband and I have been to Lighthouse Lodge twice. Once for Valentines Day and a few days ago to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the Hawaiian suite and the owners Mike & Bonnie have really thought of every possible comfort and made an exceptional experience for their guests. I HIGHLY recommend staying there if you’re in Monticello. And the whirlpool bath is just lovely and romantic. The only thing was that housekeeping didn’t knock and just opened the door a crack which was startling and a tad invasive but I know there was no ill intent. Just be sure to mention if you don’t require housekeeping services which is kinda on us because we didn’t mention it because we were only there two nights. My son and his new bride stayed there for a couple.of days and their stay was wonderful. Getting them registered was a breeze, even though things were chaotic on our end. The owners are really sweet people and worked with our crazy schedules and went over and above to help us when our photographer backed out. We will definitely recommend this place to all of our friends and family.
