Lake Junaluska Campground

Lake Junaluska Campgound was a God-send for my husband & I. Our transmission decided to fry on a very mountainous multi-week vacation hauling across the Appalacians & Blue Ridge from WV to NY, PA, MD, & then through VA & NC. When the check engine light screamed @ us in Asheville, the closest dealer who could fit us in for a diagnosis in under a week was in Waynesville. This campground was the closest campground to the dealer, & we were amazed to find they had space during this prime time of year (peak of fall color change in the most colorful area of the Carolina mountains!). Turns out it was just what we were looking for in a layover campground - which was an affordable full hook-up camp in a very safe (& beautiful!) area that wasn't too far from the dealer (5.5 miles) & other resouces

The park was easy to find. It is located not far from I 24 on Dellwood City Road. . There is pavement all the way including some of the interior roads.. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are a mix of pavement and gravel. Because of it’s proximity next to a busy road there was quite a bit of traffic noise. We were close to the road as that is the only part of the park that has 50 amp power. Further back and higher up should be much quieter. Our site, 103, was a pull thru that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (50/ 30 amp, water and sewer only) were to the left side. Distancing is very close for a rural park. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even where the coach parked on

The front desk registration employee was great, but the camp owners policies are snobby and severely misguided. I was told the campground does not allow Skoolies because they had a bad experience with one. How many bad experiences have they had with RV's??? I have invested over $150K in my Skoolie and get compliments everywhere I travel in the U.S. In my four trips traveling across the country, I have seen far more crappy looking RV's than Skoolies. Its probably not even worth my time to write this review as I'm sure the campground will continue its discriminative policies. In over three years of travel, this is the first campground I've run into that discriminates against travelers based on there own ignorance of traveling lifestyles. What about pick-up campers and converted van

We went in our RV nice place! They have rooms like cabins, dog friendly, we didn't use them.

We love staying here. This time the bathrooms weren't as clean as normal. Found out they had a new cleaning service. Camp host are always helpful & friendly. Sites are good size & rate.
