La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio Riverwalk

This hotel review is one i really had to sit and think about. Outside the hotel was nice and looked clean. The lobby was clean and looked like it had been updated. The staff here were amazing. They were all smiling greeted you ask how the stay was going and if you needed anything. The heated out door pool was big and clean. The outdoor hot tub was clean and warm. I think it would have been a few degrees hotter but that's just my personal preference. Grest free breakfast every morning. The staff did a great job keeping the food hot fresh and fully stocked. The staff kept busy stocking refilling all your options and I was impressed by the staffs anility to keep up and the cleanliness was impressive. Rooms are clean and staff are super helpful and nice. Bed was excellent and firm. Had issues getting the shower to warm up. I appreciate they allow pets and it's cheaper than doing dog daycare. Parking is wild west out there. $36 a day and no guarantee a spot will be open if you get back late. Pool area smelled horrible for some reason. Location is right on the edge of downtown, but river walk and stores are at least within .5 miles.

Room is very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Check in online was easy. Staff at counter could be a little friendlier. A/C was in automatic mode so we could not adjust it. It was sometimes too hot and sometimes cold. Just a short walk to The Alamo. Price for room was good.

Positive: "" Negative: The fact I had to pay an extra $35 a night for parking. In addition I had to use my bank card for each entrance or exit from the parking lot when it would have been more convenient to just use the room key. Also I had to pay $100 deposit.

The location was great. The breakfast had plenty of options with a large seating area. The room/bathroom was spacious and bed/pillows were comfortable. The only complaint was we went to the bar to get a drink and there was not a staff member in there. We waited 10 minutes then went to the front desk to ask and they said oh he’s out front I’ll send him over. When he came in the bar, he was very unfriendly and it seemed as though we were inconveniencing him since he had to come inside to do his job instead of hanging outside talking to someone. This happened on a Friday during Happy Hour time and no one was in the bar. 3/4-3/7.
