La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio N Stone Oak

I made reservations for last night, January 3rd, for a one night of Mommy needs a break staycation. I did the pre-check in which was a waste of time since I had to do it all over again when I got there. I selected a single bed, they didn’t have it so they gave me a room with a double, no big deal. I get there pull the sheets back and that bed was filthy with dirt, hair and what looked like pubic hair. The guy at the counter said he could give me sheets and I could make the bed. I said I don’t want to make the bed I want to relax and eat my dinner. So he sends me to another room. Great, I go to take a bath and there is no tub drain stopper. I call the front desk and ask for one. He says there are none and to just shower. What?? My one night to get out of the house to be alone and relax was

Overall, a good experience. Pillows were nice and firm, room was clean, TV is large. The downsides were minor. They only had 1 choice of diet soda at the little store, and their water choices were smaller bottles of purified water, not spring water. Breakfast was good, although bring your own large cup for oj/milk as their cups are extremely small. The bigger disappointment was their cable TV. it is spectrum. So it was very difficult to manage through the guide and channels as they don't really line up with numbers you can enter, and there was not a single news channel in the lineup. Next time, I would bring my own HDMI cable and laptop to stream.

The front desk clerk was friendly and warm.. to the group ahead of us then turned very cold and seemingly bothered when I went up to check in. I read nothing into this nor did I see it as relevant or significant enough to bother with.||We were solely there to sleep after the day work trip and get on the road back home in the morning. We weren't in the room 10 minutes before it was invaded by extremely loud and chaotic talking, movement, music, just constant noise reverbing off every wall and surface of our room. We tried to turn the tv on to ignore it and just sleep through it, but it was literally impossible to turn the volume up to even muffle their noise. Very nice and clean place with friendly and welcoming staff. We truly enjoyed our stay, and my kids loved it so much. The location is very convenient, with Walmart and Costco within walking distance. Popular attractions such as the Zoo, the Tower of the Americas, The DoSeum, and the River Walk are also nearby. Highly recommended for anyone looking to have a great time in San Antonio.

Im giving this hotel atleast 2 stars because the front desk was nice and helpful. But those rooms are horrendous! I stayed there for 3 nights and many things went wrong the more I stayed. Upon entering the room it smelt weird and like chemicals. I decided to ignore it as I just took it as a sign as maybe it was recently cleaned. The AC leaks badly. It would continuously wet the carpet beneath it and it was very loud when you put it to cool air. But if on heat, it was fine. The bathroom door had a broken lock and the knob wouldnt even close the door correctly. I saw 2 roaches my second stay, both were around the mini fridge area. And lastly on my last day there, the smell became a bit stronger of chemicals.
