La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston East at Normandy

I booked for one king size superior room and they gave me an upgrade. I thought it was something nice. It was mowed in my room. You could smell it on the third floor soon as you get off the elevator so if they try to give you an upgrade to a better room that’s what makes it sound so good don’t take it and they also don’t tell you you have to do a $50 deposit and if you pay with your car you don’t get it back till three business days

Positive: I liked the overall security, of having locked gates, etc. I also liked having a thermostat that actually worked, along with a clean & spacious room. Breakfast was also good. Negative: The hotel staff at the front desk was rather noisy in the middle of the night, carrying on & laughing, etc., not realizing that the guests in the adjacent rooms could hear all of it. So I did get up & bring it to their attention, which did help.

It was a cold December night and the shower water is cold !!! They saved a few nickels in exchange for bad reviews. Never again La Quinta

My fiancé and I stayed here for 9 days, and unfortunately, our experience was very upsetting. Management unexpectedly knocked on our door and told us we had to leave. By the time I went to the front desk to ask what was going on, the police had already been called. As a young Black couple, this was extremely stressful and felt unnecessary. Throughout our stay, I felt singled out and nitpicked by a manager whose behavior toward us felt very different from what I saw toward other guests. It made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. When the police arrived, they reviewed everything and said I was allowed to stay because my reservation was prepaid and I had not violated any rules.
