La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Fort Walton Beach

Small room, dingy yellow lighting from cheap bulbs (I guess spending $2 more on bulbs isn't in the budget), TV was very small with black smudge discoloration on the screen. Nothing felt modern. It felt like 1990 in there. I've stayed at over 50 hotels within the last 12 months and honestly this is my least favorite. Did see one cockroach in the bathroom on the first of four nights but never seen anymore thank gosh. Rooms were cleaned well. Pretty solid breakfast. Definitely wouldn't return. Candlewood suites and the Holiday Inn Express are much better local options.

This was great stay, this place was immaculate, easy to find and slightly cheaper than surrounding motels. Everything was exactly as advertised (including the 4 1/2 star rating, out of 5 maximum)

This hotel is starting to show her age, and smells very musty and skunky. However, the housekeeping staff do a pretty job of keeping her clean. The free breakfast was so lackluster, that it wasn't worth going down for. There were times that the skunk smell was so strong that it chocked you. There's what appears to be an unauthorized smoking section (not the one by the pool) located on the highway side beside the stair exit that seemed to be the skunk smoking area at night. Most nights, the smell would drift up and into the A/C vent and into my bedroom on the 3rd floor. I really don't care what's being smoked, but that close to the building and A/C units isn't an ideal place.

Positive: "" Negative: No pillowcases I don’t know if that’s a new thing. Furniture needs replaced,holes on the couch, scuff marks all over the dressers etc.

First of all, my husband had called the weekend before our trip to see if we could get a room on a upper floor and to see if this particular hotel was oceanfront or oceanview and they told us the best they could do was have us overlookkng the bay which was fine but we got there and it was not close enough to the bay to be overlooking it. Second of all the person who we spoke with did not leave a note for the reservation or our request so we had to get a different room at check in. Third of all, we had a decent stay most of the trip but on 11/16 we noticed that my husband and I were both experiencing breathing problems. My husband hasn't had breathing problems since he was a child. We left the room to get food and get some fresh air to see if we can pinpoint the source of our breathing prob
