La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chicago Downtown

Positive: Avail at scheduled time, good staff, large clean room, walk in shower & comfortable bed. Negative: Yes, they added an additional $17.61 to our bill for a resort fee, which was completely unexpected & didn't provide us with an services. They did not mention this fee at check-in & it was billed to our credit card after we had left. Just wrong!

The room was cozy and clean. Breakfast was amazing. Beds were so comfy. There were only 2 problems.... problems 1. The bottom of my coffee cup fell out and I ended with scorching hot coffee down my body and burns on my chest and leg. Problem 2 was the parking. The cost and the inconvenience of the parking was insane. I should also mention we struggled to find the hotel. Better signage would have been helpful.

On check I'm informed there hasn't been wifi all day and don't know when it'll be back. Get to room and the toliet doesn't flush. Asked for new room. New room has black mold ALL over the bathroom. Hair and pubic hair in the shower and bathroom floor. Tissues are used and wet. It's now 11pm. When I finally get to speak to management days later. I'm offered reward points and no refund of any kind. Simply gross and wildly unprofessional. Literally any choice of hotel in the area is far superior to La quinta

From the minute we walked in the door it was chaos or should I say pulled in. Number 1 we had to pay 65$ for parking just to be able to go in and out of garage for our stay 2nd once we get there and finally get to our room we had to turn around and go right back to front desk because they checked us in to the wrong room also room looked dingy phone didn’t work so I was already sceptical. Then we get to front desk and the lady tells me that that’s the room we booked for like no what I booked for was the junior king size suite which showed a living room area and a separate room on other side which showed in picture on there “website” Then I was told they only had 1 room like that and it was occupied well Mabye you guys shouldn’t over book that specific suite that’s not my issue so after goi

Rooms were nice and fresh, we arrived early so we were sitting in the lobby for hours until a manager walked by and asked us if we were ok. Mind you the staff kept saying there were no clean rooms on a week day! The Manager went to the desk and told them to give us our key and just like that we’re in our room 2 hours early!!!! The Keurig coffee maker was filthy and you can tell that it’s not cleaned between guests ( see pics). No matter how much water I ran through the machine, it was filthy with floaties and I saw a baby spider in one of the rinses….I would definitely return to this hotel because of its proximity to the train station.
