La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Carlsbad - Legoland Area

This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had, and I would never come back. I called days in advance on Tuesday, January 13 to ask if our rooms could be placed near my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. I was told to call the day of check-in and that it would be possible. My mother-in-law then called again on January 17 at 8:40 AM, and your staff confirmed again that our rooms could be placed together. Fast forward to 6:00 PM at check-in, and suddenly we were told it was not possible because the hotel was sold out. If that’s the case, why did your staff promise this multiple times? We planned our stay based on those assurances. The lack of communication and follow-through was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. It didn’t stop there. Our first family trip of 8 came to carlsbad for a 2 night 3 day stay. Place was very clean. Breakfest wasn't all that good besides the waffles. The juices and coffee was good. The fitness room was under construction without notice. We were bummed out. Our key cards for both rooms stopped working randomly during our stay. The hotel and our room was right next to the freeway, so it was extremely hard to sleep the first night. The noise of fast speeding cars on the freeway was so loud, it was so hard to fall asleep. I normally can sleep through anything. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was very convenient. I probably wouldn't choose this hotel again due to the price and location.

Positive: Hot and functional jacuzzi Negative: The carpet in our room was filthy. The fitness center and laundry room were under construction. elevator is extremely slow and tiny. By the time we waited for the elevator to arrive, a housekeeping staff told us she was going up to the third floor.

All the staffs were super kind and understanding. I had a room that was close to the freeway, and the noise from the vehicle driving by was really loud, kept my family up all night. A staff, beautiful young lady, took me from room to room until I found a room comfortable enough for my family. To Me, that was exceptional of them, and I loved that they cared a lot about the hotel and the residence in it. Breakfast was delicious; fresh and hot every morning. Enough meal for everyone . I love the location. We walked to the beach. I will definitely be staying here over and over again ❤️

This is my go-to hotel whenever I stay in the Carlsbad or Oceanside area. This is our 3rd or 4th stay here with my family. First, the value is incredible. We always have a lot to do when we get here, and we just need a place to sleep. This time we sprung for the suite at $20 more and it was worth every single penny. My kids were expecting the double queen and when they saw the bunk beds they were thrilled! Breakfast is included, and it's standard to better than the average continental breakfast. My family always goes for the waffles, and the daily rotation of sausage patties, bacon, and sausage links keeps my kids happy. Note: this is 5 stars across the board for my needs and my family.
