La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Costa Mesa / Newport Beach

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, things were poorly handled. Our room was not ready at check-in time, and while they did offer us a different room to wait in, that should not have been necessary. Once our assigned room was finally ready, we were shocked by the condition. The bedsheets and pillowcases had visible stains on them, which is completely unacceptable. The toilet had dried urine on it, making it clear the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. We were only provided with two small towels, and when we requested additional towels, we were told they were “dirty” and that none were available. So, initially the front desk person at check-in was positive so it left me with a good feeling for a potential for a "diamond in the rough" type-a-deal. Man was I wrong... dark, dingy, old, decrepit & deteriorating accommodations is the only way to describe this place. I booked this through my credit card company to get travel points, but I'm actually going to call them and advise that they not market this place on their website anymore as the pictures via the website are sadly misleading as well as not being able to cancel remaining nights because of the "cancelation policy". No bottles of lotion, shampoo or shower gel... just one packet of conditioning shampoo and 2 mini bars of hand soap (I'm staying for 4 nights... sure I could ask for more, but le'me finish...). Restroom was clean, but the restroom has mold on the ceiling and around the shower. When you turn on the shower head it was leaking out of the shower onto the floor, creating a huge puddle. The shower curtain could not block it. Towels were very very dirty, small and see through.

They're cheap, but unless you enjoy dumpsters, please stay elsewhere. My family and I stayed at this motel mid-February. We soon discovered that we had no shower; the water was scorching hot, too unsafe to use, and could not be turned colder. Second, the television was broken; no picture, just sound. I stayed at this La Quinta a week ago to attend my son’s football tournament. I expected a great stay because of my experience at the La Quinta near Disneyland. The room was awful! When I moved the refrigerator, which for some reason was unplugged, roaches scattered across the floor. There were roaches on the wall that had been killed previously. The bathtub was disgusting. I took a shower with slides on. There was a hole in the door that had been covered with duct tape and mold all over the walls. It was a nightmare! I immediately called the front desk from my cell phone (as we could not locate a room phone) and spoke to the front desk attendant about my experience. He was very uncaring, unapologetic, and unwilling to help. He stated there were no rooms for me to move to, no one to clean
