Sunset Inn Costa Mesa

Please do not go here, I booked this place for my fishing trip and came back to shower and the hot water did not work I had the hot water running for 20 minutes and it never got hot, so I went to the front and the guy said hes gonna flip the switch on the water heater he did and it only worked for 5 minutes then went cold again, so I gave up the next morning the same thing no hot water, they said let me flip the switch, by this time I was frustrated so I just asked for a refund or discount and they said contact expedia.com, I said I paid here at the hotel, they replied yeah but you reserved online, like the other company is supposed to refund us for their inconveniences zero stars do not ever go here! Never going here again!

Not from around here so was outside talk to a gentleman fixing his bike in the parking lot the front desk work walks up to us and starts going off looking me up and down I told him “I got two rooms and you can give me a refund and I’d gladly go sleep somewhere else” he said “I’d like to see you get a refund” his name is Robert when I tried calling a number to talk to a manger he answered and kept saying “I can’t give you their personal number” when I never asked for it. When I went to the front to go talk to someone he was there very very rude and aggressive was literally not doing anything but having a conversation with a man. And when the worker get there he starts saying “I don’t know you I don’t know you why are you walking up on me”

We booked a room here because the reviews on Expedia were decent. However, upon our arrival today, we were given a room that had a very, very strong urine smell. The cleaning ladies had literally just walked out of the room while we were waiting to get in. They offered to send them back in there to clean, but I requested switching to a new room. They told me that they didn’t have any other rooms available. Needless to say, we left. We went to the OC Hotel and it is 100% nicer.

Well I was told I made a reservation for a room that was remodeled and it definitely was dated. That didn’t really bother me but there was no trash can in the room the coverlet on the bed was stained but other than that it was quiet and comfortable. The young man was or king the check inn was polite and well spoken. I would stay here again but in the remodeled section. I wonder if the trash can less room and stained linens were just a mistake cause of the all the work being done.
