La Posada de Santa Fe, a Tribute Portfolio Resort & Spa

La Posada has a really unique setup. The main house feels like an old mansion and serves as the lobby, bar, and part of the restaurant, Julia’s. It looks a little dated at first, but the service was the best we experienced in Santa Fe. Tammy, the bar and restaurant manager, was exceptional. She was knowledgeable about the area, generous with her time, and truly made our stay more memorable. The location is ideal, easy walking distance to everything downtown, which made exploring simple. That said, the rooms need updating. We had an adobe fireplace, which was neat in theory, but the room carried a lingering campfire smell. The furniture felt very old, the carpet and bench had stains, and the tub and shower setup felt more like a basic motel than a resort property. Several outlets did not

Grr!||•great property, super charming and well kept|•friendly front desk and valet (also quick)|•getting to rooms is all outdoors because of the adobe aesthetic. When cold and lots of luggage not the funnest, but the charm is worth it.|•room spacious and clean. Bathroom small. Bed comfortable. ||Don’t get the bad reviews. We really enjoyed our short stay.

We arrived to the front desk and were told that as a titanium elite bonvoy member we were being upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite (from the 1 bedroom we had reserved) We were very happy until we reached the room. As soon as we opened the door to the room we were overwhelmed with the stench of marijuana. It was like several people were smoking in the room at once, the smell was unbearable. As far as I could tell, the living room windows were left open by housekeeping and guests were smoking marijuana on the patio below this room, which caused all of the smoke to enter the room through the open window. We asked to be given another room. They did not have any 2 bedrooms available so we were given the 1 bedroom we had initially reserved. At first we were pleased with the new room but after a few

A really cool but old house serves as the lobby, bar and some of the restaurant. The grounds are really pretty and well taken care of. All positive points on the outside. Oh, and the location is perfect and within walking distance to everything downtown. Our room (and assuming the others) are in desperate need of updating; something I seem to be saying a lot lately in my reviews. We had an adobe fireplace in our room, and while it was cool to see, it smelled like an old campfire. The furniture is really old, the carpet and bench stained, old tub/curtain setup for the shower like a low level motel. And it was not cleaned very well at all. Positive: We loved that there was a shuttle that took us anywhere we wanted in a two-mile radius. Helped a lot since we didn't have a rental car. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Negative: The room heater/AC made more noise than it should have.
