La Luz

I recently stayed at La Luz, and it was an incredible experience. The building has this perfect mix of history and modern design—like if a 1920s newspaper office decided it wanted to be a luxury retreat. The space was stylish, comfortable, and had everything I needed, from a full kitchen to in-unit laundry. The location is unbeatable—just two blocks from the Alamo and the Riverwalk, which meant I could explore downtown San Antonio with ease (and, more importantly, be within striking distance of both incredible Mexican food and barbecue at all times). I may or may not have planned my days around how many tacos and brisket plates I could fit in. This is a hidden Gem!!!!! Just out of the tourist area but 3-5 minute walks to The Alamo, River Walk, restaurants, La Panadería, of course still plenty to see about 15-20 min walk, The Tower of America, Alamo Dome, La Villita. Just below and next door is a nice coffee shop. Best of all; the rentals are spacious, clean. Messages are answered very quickly, we requested an early check in and was accommodated, upon check out a message that flight would be delayed by three hours, we again requested a late checkout and was once again accommodated, we came with two other couples, one from out of state and other from out of country and they both said they would be telling anybody coming to San Antonio that this is a great choice to stay in!!! We stayed for 1 week here. The positives: The service was great as we had an incident in the hallway with incredibly loud noise at 2:00am, which they swiftly handled the very next morning and even let us change rooms as well! The check-in was very easy and it was easy to find. The location was good as well as it was close to the Riverwalk! The negatives: They advertise that it is a fully equipped room, however, a lot of kitchenware were missing, most importantly, oven mitts to use when cooking food in the oven. The kitchen utensils and other kitchenware that were there were pretty dirty and gross as well. Something to also note: BOTH rooms that we were in had a bathroom door that did not close all the way, so that limited privacy a bit. The doors were broken in both of those bathrooms. Th

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The location couldn’t be better- right in the heart of everything downtown. The room was comfortable, very well maintained, and had a great overall vibe. I’d definitely stay here again. The French bakery across the street is must!

As an introvert, I love the contactless checking in and out. The room has everything you need and it’s definitely a jaw dropping room. Would book here again😍 P.S: It is at walking distance to everything you would wanna visit in San Antonio (i.e. La Pananderia, Riverwalk, The Alamo, Hopscotch, etc)
