I had an overnight stay at the Kimpton Monaco and enjoyed it very much. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming, had us up in our room in no time. The room was quiet, spacious and very comfortable. We had an excellent night’s sleep and woke up refreshed and happy. As a Diamond Elite member, I was entitled to a free breakfast at the Red Owl Restaurant. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in ages. The staff at the Red Owl were amazing. I now have my “go to” place in Philly!
This hotel was fine. The decor was pretty and staff friendly and helpful. Location great. Unfortunately there are a few things I think make it not somewhere I would stay again given the cost of the hotel. I expect more for the price. First, it's one of the first hotels I've stayed at in a long time that does not have smart tvs. So you have to watch just broadcast TV. The on demand was TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS to watch something as basic as Pretty Woman. Not that we want to spend all day watching things, but it would be nice at the end of the day to be able to just log in to your Netflix, which I've been able to do at a basic Marriot. Positive: Location, staff helpfulness & friendliness, good food at conference, great coffee, convenient restaurant, free coffee/tea AM, free wine mixer in the evening tho I didn?t try that. Negative: 3 out of 4 elevators were not working when we were there. That was inconvenient during heavy traffic times, only 1-2x was it a significant bother.
Excellent king room, updated bathroom, good A/C, very cozy bed, desk in the room. Location is close to all the things you want to see in Philadelphia, safe area with lots of amenities nearby. Fun atmosphere, kind of Parisian feel. They had a wine happy hour 5-6pm, hotel restaurant seems nice, fitness center has dumbbells and treadmills, some ellipticals. Business or pleasure, I'd come here again. Good value.
While this was not our first visit to the Kimpton Monaco, it was our first in a while and it did not disappoint! The rooms have been beautifully remodeled and everything just feels really thoughtfully done. There is refurbishment of the Red Owl Tavern and fitness center currently, but they are still serving Red Owl breakfast and lunch/dinner in different areas of the hotel. The wine reception from 5-6 was a treat as always -- just a fun community activity that the Kimpton does well. We were upgraded due to our Diamond Elite status to a gorgeous King Corner Spa room overlooking Independence Hall. This was just another example of the special touches Kimpton is known for. However, the real MVP is Roshid, the concierge. He helped us arrange a late checkout and answered some questions about bre
