Kimpton Hotel Fontenot

While the hotel is not directly in the French Quarter, it’s an easy and pleasant walk to all the action. You get the convenience of being close without the constant noise and crowds right outside your door. If you’re flying into MSY, I highly recommend skipping the Uber. There’s a 202 bus that runs from the airport and drops you off just across the street from the hotel. It only costs $1.25. Just make sure you have exact change, or you can pay easily through the RTA Le Pass App. It’s affordable, convenient, and takes the stress out of airport transportation. The hotel itself is beautiful. The design is stylish yet welcoming, and there’s an on site restaurant with a bar that makes it easy to grab a drink or a bite without leaving the property. Very old hotel and unclean carpet. Staff service extremely slow. It took me 30 minutes to get my car using valet parking. I don't understand how this hotel got this rating. The price at this level hotel is ironic. Don't book.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! We used Chase's Edit and IHG credit, so really didn't come much out of pocket for our 2 day stay. Valet was on the pricey side, but again was covered by our Edit Credit. Our room was upgraded to a suite as well. Additionally, we got $45 per day to cover breakfast. Without these, the hotel would have leaned a bit on the "too expensive" side, but was great for us with these extra benefits. The location was in a fantastic, very safe location of the city, very near Canal Street and across the street from the famous Mother's Restaurant. The staff was excellent and checked with us multiple times to see if we needed anything. When we discovered that we needed deodorant, nail clippers, extra towels, iron and ironing board, all were delivered

We had a very nice weekend staying at the Hotel Fontenot. The hotel is centrally located several blocks away from Bourbon Street, the casino, the river, and a few other places. Rooms were spacious and clean, and everyone working there was very friendly. The coffee shop and restaurant on the first floor were also very convenient. Worth considering if you are visiting New Orleans and need a place to stay.
