John Hotel

We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Flushing and were really happy with our choice. The location couldn’t be more convenient, it’s right on one of the busiest streets, surrounded by great restaurants and even some late-night BBQ stands. Getting around was super easy too. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for four days and three nights. The first night, the room wasn’t very soundproof and we could hear our neighbors arguing, but once we mentioned it to the staff, they took care of it right away. The rest of the nights were much quieter. Occasionally, we could hear airplanes passing by, but it wasn’t a big deal at all. We didn’t plan on staying here, but problems with our flight made us stay a night in NYC. First, it is clean. I found the staff mostly friendly, but to the point. Other reviews complain about the small step between the doorways to the room and bathroom. Yeah, they are there, but no big deal. The shower was great. The climate control works, but it warm/cools slowly even though the fan is blowing. The hotel is also right in Chinatown, near a lot of really good hot pot and soup dumpling restaurants, which were fun to explore—a real treat. Despite the circumstances, I was glad to have stayed there.

A Chinese-owned hotel, very close to central Flushing. Didn't really have much complaints about the hotel. We were able to street park the car overnight nearby too. Complimentary breakfast could be better as it's mostly just microwaved stuff, but there is porridge!

I would rate this hotel as a 3.5 out of 5 overall. But let me say some nuance first. If you need a solid hotel in flushing and you have a bunch of places you want to go to in Manhattan. John hotel is great for a few days. Pros: absolute phenomenal LOCATION, Solid room, clean enough except maybe corner spots on on the tub. Good security. 2 blocks away is main street and theres private guards and NYPD at every bank. This place has police 5 minutes away from the hotel. Location: 7 train subway is 2 blocks away, tangrem mall and movie theater next door, target is 2 to 3 blocks away. The la guardia Q90 bus is across the street pass the avenue and between target and another restaurant. Theres a laundromat 15 minutes away and a bus to go there.
