Jaslin Hotel

Location can’t be beat, rooms were nice and mostly clean. Bathroom had large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion. Deducting one star because there were only 2 pillows on the bed (4 would be nice) and the shower floor was nasty. Good thing I brought some shower shoes. But if you book in advance, the price is very reasonable for being able to stay in the city off the red line.

Discovered blood stains on the bed sheets — clearly not changed. This is a serious sanitation and health issue. Front desk did nothing until I personally called the manager and demanded a room change. The next morning at 7:30 AM, there was no front desk staff at all. I tried for 20+ minutes to check out. Hotel phone, in-room phone, and housekeeping all went unanswered. Despite claiming a 24-hour front desk, there was no one available. Unable to properly check out and no follow-up or apology regarding the blood-stained bedding. Completely unacceptable. Avoid this hotel. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Staff were very nice. Close to Chinatown but quite a distance away from main attractions and locations Chicago is known and should be experienced for. Bus stop and Metro is relatively near and walkable. As for accessibility to the McCormick Convention Center, it is pretty accessible via a short bus ride.

Do not make a reservation here - you may lose your money. I reserved a room here but needed to cancel it. I called in advance of the 24 hour cancellation window and was told my reservation would be canceled without charge. Instead I was charged. Then I called and emailed multiple times over the following months. They would promise callbacks and ignore my emails, including when I sent proof that I had called in time to cancel the room.

I didn’t plan on staying here but I booked it due to my original hotel booking got canceled on the day. The staff was very lovely and accommodating, the metro line was super closeby and can take you to the loop within 10 minutes. It’s honestly not a bad hotel for just sleeping there, it’s not very new but the bed is fine and everything works as it’s supposed to. The area is very safe too with tons of amazing restaurants
