InTown Suites Extended Stay Auburn AL - Auburn University

I booked a room here a month in advance. I called the day prior to check in to confirm that my reservation was still valid and that I would be able to check in upon arrival. I was assured that the Google reviews regarding last minute cancellations were inaccurate and that I had a room as long as I showed up between 11 and 6. Nonetheless, less than one hour into my check in window, I received a text that my reservation had been cancelled with no explanation. This caused me to have to pay double the price for a reservation at a different hotel on an Auburn gameday. Do NOT rely on this hotel to honor your reservation. If given the time, I strongly recommend that you pay a higher price in advance to ensure that you get a room with a reputable hotel that will honor your reservation.

We booked a room at InTown Suites Extended Stay, well in advance through Expedia for the Mizzou game day weekend in Auburn as Auburn Alumni we felt this place was a decent choice. The reservation was confirmed, and we arrived from Kansas City before the office closed. Shockingly, we were told our reservation had been cancelled due to overbooking, but there was no record of cancellation, no call, no email, no text. Expedia confirmed the booking was still active and couldn’t even reach the front desk to verify the overbooking claim. This hotel is unacceptable, and the manager was extremely disrespectful. When I booked the room, I requested a queen studio with a sofa bed and everything else you'd expect from a hotel, all non-smoking. When I entered the room, it looked cheap, the stove was broken, and none of my requests were met. Then I went to the front desk to report this and asked for a room that actually had what I paid for and didn't smell like smoke... it costs nearly $1,500 for a low-quality room. It took an unreasonably long time for them to address the issue. At that point, I became frustrated and asked for a refund instead. They DID NOT process the refund, nor did they give me a receipt. The front desk clerk Jazmyne was very sweet and helpful check in was quick and easy. However, We stayed in room 310 a non smoking room, the room smelled horribly of cigarette smoke, the smell was so strong it made my head hurt and nose burn. The mattress was way to hard, there were only 2 pillows on the bed and they were way to soft it was like not using a pillow at all. The bathroom light flickered really bad almost like a strobe light. The property was clean.

Beware, the property manager canceled my reservation the afternoon of the day my 8 day stay was to start. The reservation was made 3 weeks in advance with no issues. She blamed the folks who made the reservation. Reservations said she lied and gave my reservation away. Completely unprofessional. She should lose her job.
