Indian Island Campground

Nice campground with water on all sites and electric on some. No sewer but does have a two trailer dump station . Very wooded but also has a nice beach within walking distance.

This campground is great! Compared to the one nearby in Riverhead called Wildwood I will give the pros and cons below. Indian island campground has a less busy, sandy beach, and is closer walking distance. Compared to wildwood where the beach is much further, the sand is full of rocks, and it’s usually packed with people. The campsites at Indian island are much closer together so there is less space in the spots but you are much closer to the bathrooms. At Indian island each tent campsite has it’s own water spout whereas at wildwood theirs a water spout for each section so you have to walk and share with multiple people. At wildwood the campsites RV’s aren’t aloud at tent sites so it’s more quiet in regard to the noise of the RV generators which are very loud at night at Indian island.

Great place for camping in the shade and the woods. Dog friendly. Watch out for turtles on the roads

Great Anniversary trip, a bit of rain (torrential at times), but still so much Fun and so much Beauty!!! Was very cute and great to see the kids dress up and walk from campsite to campsite Trick-Or-Treating!! Had to run out and get candy and chips, I would have loved this as a kid!!! And you can't beat Dutch Oven Chicken Enchiladas!!!!!

I give Indian Island 5stars because of how big and beautiful it is. The staff is very nasty at times, my sites ha e had glass, bottles caps and cigarette buts every where. We had to clean it up. The animals are courageous but the grounds are huge and so beautiful if you get lost in the right places.
