Customer Reviews
This hotel is not worth the price. It markets itself as a historic hotel, but it is anything but that. The building itself is partially renovated in a tacky way, and the remainder is run down. The elevator is old and smells. Historic details in the lobby are not as they appear in photos. There is a fake fireplace and cheap furniture. None of that in itself is disqualifying, but it does not create an atmosphere of a historic hotel. Worse, the hotel is not run like a professional business of what one would expect from a moderate to high end hotel. The staff are unprofessional and not trained in customer service. For example, as my husband walked up to the front desk to ask a question, he found the woman staffing the desk eating chicken and flossing her teeth. Again, staff have every right t
Very nice and cozy hotel conveniently located in the Old District of Philadelphia. Zero complaints here, everything was clean and comfortable! We slept very well and the ambiance of the room was so nice that we enjoyed spending time just sitting inside (and away from the cold) in the evenings without necessarily wanting to go elsewhere. From 4-6 daily there was a cookie bar with hot chocolate, perfect for someone with a sweet tooth like me. The breakfast is included and I would say it’s just okay.
Excellent stay. We were warmly welcomed and check is was a breeze. Parking is at a parking garage about a block away. We were given excellent (printed) directions and a parking card, which we returned at the end of our stay. The room was of average size, very comfortable and clean. The room was cold when we arrived, but we were able to warm it up without issues. Very quiet. Lots of friendly amenities in the lobby, coffee, cookies, a nice warm fire. We changed our reservations to BW from Hilton (for obvious reasons) and were so happy we did! Excellent hotel.
We stayed 3 nights to attend a family wedding. This is a little gem in the heart of a historic city! Service was great, everyone we encountered was kind and helpful. The room was a bit small but the ability to walk everywhere made up for this. Coffee, cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby were a nice touch! We would also highly recommend Forsythia, the restaurant and bar next door. This was definitely good value for the price and we would definitely stay here again!
Positive: Comfortable accommodations and hospitality. Warm cookies were an excellent touch. Negative: ""
