Independence Hall Lodging

I really like the PEC experience. Other than when large groups of people arrive at one time, they only have 2 staff working the front desk for like 100 arrivals. They know how many people are arriving everyday. Theye should staff the check in appropriately so that the wait is not so long.

The room is spacious and has iron and ironing board. The staff was a little rushy even though I was the only person there at the time. The wifi is fast! The air conditioning for my room is not staying at a low setting so it's warm in the room and the thermostat is low on battery and flickering. But the place is clean and the dining location is only a few steps away.

Fantastic rooms!! Better than some hotels I've paid money to stay in. Cleaning service is fantastic, they come everyday and make up the bed, replace towels if needed and remove the trash. Cannot complain about this lodging. Hands down, the best military lodging I have ever stayed in.

I attended numerous classes (Training NCO, Admin courses, Readiness, etc.,) over the past 30 years at this location. It seems the place (Independence Hall at least) has gone downhill since I began training. It's still a decent place but something (Pride perhaps) that was there way back then is no longer. Can't put my finger on it but whatever it was ain't there now. The place could use 500 gallons of paint from what I was able to identify on my last visit.

It was a shock, I packed like I would for any other training. But this is a literal hotel. I check the beds and no bed bugs I did see a roach in the hallway but only once so I can't help but wonder if a guest brought it on. The "chow hall" is close by but nothing else is. Their is a shuttle I've added a picture of the schedule. The shuttle is a.... "thrilling" ride. A nice hiking/jogging trail around the lake. And a private shower which for the military, at least some of us is amazing. The downside, there is NOTHING close by. The PX(more a oddly stocked shopette) is expensive, except the liquor was really nicely priced. BEWARE the drink machines. A single can of coke is $1.25 a can of sprite $1.35 the px is closed on the weekends so buy drinks ahead of time. The water machine
