Hampton Inn North Little Rock McCain Mall

Hotel was clean & rooms as well. We were not greeted by front desk after check in which I guess with app check in all the luggage didn't indicate we were just getting there(6pm). Front desk clerk in the am was very friendly speaking to everyone who passed by & asking if we needed anything even when we checked out already on app. The breakfast was limited selections for hot items & what was there was lukewarm at best. Beds were comfy though, shower water temp wasnt as hot as we like , but good walkable location for shopping.

The location is tucked in, but extremely close to Interstate 40. As it was tucked away, the parking was away from the main road and well lit. The building was very safe as the entry was locked late at night. The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet! In fact the whole hotel was quiet. The staff were wonderful and very helpful with suggestions and assistance as I left at about 2:30am. The room was spotless and there was no noise. Free bottles of water were available and the bathroom toiletries were adequate. This really made my rest in between 2 days of solid driving totaling 25 hours a dream.

I have always loved staying this hotel. I can’t say that I like all the updates. I don’t like how they removed the carpet in the rooms. I like to walk around barefoot and sad I wasn’t able to do so. Also there are not table stands in the rooms so when you are watching tv you have no place to put your water or drink but on the floor. Removing the carpet just doesn’t feel cozy. It’s like when the carpet left the room the cozyness left. The lady at the front desk wasn’t as welcoming. I kept having to make small talk and it should be the other way around. I think in customer service one way to show you are engaged in the conversation is to make eye contact occasionally she looked down the whole time, also welcome to Hampton Inn would have been nice. I was in town for a baseball tournament with my son, 3hrs from home. My wife booked the hotel using her card but ended up not able to go. I took her card with us since it was the one on file for booking. We get there and the 2 girls at the front desk was extremely rude and would not accept our form of payment. Told me “good luck finding somewhere else”. Later that evening, my wife’s card was charged $165 fo a no call no show fee. Corporate refunded the money back to my wife and informed her that it’s up to the discretion of staff on duty whether they accept a card that doesn’t match the ID at check in but exceptions are always made for married couples. The front desk attendants were extremely rude and unprofessional and created a huge inconvenience for me and my 2 sons that was unnecessary
