Hyatt Regency Coral Gables

This hotel is very nice and comfortable. Their pillows (four per queen/king bed) vary in terms of firmness. Some are softer than others. The shower had great hot water along with ample amount of volume. I found it creative with the mattress lighting up at the bottom if you walk near it. In addition Pedro, a desk employee, gave me two complimentary bottles of water, which is excellent customer service. I would say the only cons are the lack of free parking and lack of free breakfast. It is also fortunate I came as part of a work conference.

I loved my stay at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. Service at the front desk and lobby bar was attentive and warm. During check-in I was proactively offered an upgrade and late check-out as a Hyatt Explorist, which I truly appreciated since I had a late afternoon flight. And who doesn’t love a nicer room with a balcony! I was also able to check in early which helped me maximize my time at the lovely pool! The pool bar was great during the weekend, though it seemed to be closed on Monday. One thing to be aware of is the prices for food and beverage on the property. I was a little surprised that a beer was going to be $10 and a (very tasty) buffalo chicken wrap for lunch $20. But the awesome happy hour from 5-7 daily made up for that, with beers just around $5 and great cocktails around $8

While the hotel is not located by the beach, it’s in a lovely neighborhood within walking distance of great restaurants. The parking garage is conveniently connected to the hotel, which made things easy. The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet was just okay, and I’m not sure I would have paid full price for it. That said, the staff were very nice. It’s also a dog-friendly hotel, which is always a big plus for us. We would happily return.

Positive: The hotel was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Negative: Only complaint is that one morning the hotel staff was outside of my room at 7:30 am talking loudly amongst themselves. Other than that no complaints.

What really sets this property apart is the staff. They are consistently welcoming, professional, and attentive, creating a warm and polished experience from check-in to check-out. While this is officially a Category 4 hotel, the service, attention to detail, and overall facilities easily rival—if not exceed—many Category 5
