Hyatt Place UC Davis

Positive: The complimentary breakfast was good Negative: The hotel is dated and in need of repair. Our room had loose tiles in the bathroom, paint was chipped and scratched through out the room. There was appeared to be moth larvae on a washcloth. Double charged for the two rooms that I booked and paid for.

This hotel is very clean, and the staff is friendly. The hotel could use some updates, more regular maintenance, or both. Not all the lights as you approach the hotel are working, making it dark, and some lights are flashing. The rooms themselves are clean but need maintenance and upgrading. The closet door was missing, so I assume that's why there's no full-length mirror. The furniture was broken down, though clean. The pillows need to be replaced because they felt like they were just stuffed with cotton balls.

We've been coming here for Xmas for at least 8 years, and always had a good experience. This year however, we had trouble with the toilet flush, but were able to plunge it with the help of the nice maintenance man - there was a little damage to the room divider, taped together with masking tape, and the breakfast was pathetic - everyone cleared their own tables but they were not wiped by staff, the coffee was just brown water, and there were only three types of fruit tea avaible on Xmas and only two types available the day after Xmas. We'll probably come back again next year because it's the most convenient for us, but we hope the breakfast and overall management will be better. The staff we met were all very nice.

Checked out today. Best front desk team I’ve encountered among all Hyatt places we’ve stayed at. You guys make the stay even better! The only downside was the residual smell from the cleaning products they used to clean the bathroom in the room (at least that’s our guess). Great location and the stay was overall clean and quiet.

New-ish hotel with major staffing and logistical issues. Do not recommend staying here until they get more experience. One of our reservations from hotels.com was not honored because they overbooked the hotel, so we were left scrambling to find a place to sleep at 10pm. Housekeeping staff is very limited - and service is by request only. We were not told this, however, even when inquiring directly about getting our room cleaned.
